Humanities
Pursue life's most fundamental questions

Humanities is a broad academic discipline that explores various aspects of human culture, society, and the human experience. It encompasses a range of subjects that focus on the study of human thoughts, values, beliefs, behaviors, languages, arts, literature, history, philosophy, and more. The humanities provide a deeper understanding of human creativity, expression, and the social, cultural, and historical contexts in which they exist.

Delve into the minds of history’s greatest thinkers and explore some of the most famous literary works of all time as you debate and analyse questions about existence, truth, beauty and ethics. Network with guest speakers and faculty as you explore logic, metaphysics, ethics and epistemology expressed through literature and philosophy.

Evaluate the impact and influence of literary and philosophical works on modern history, engaging in an Oxbridge-style tutorial discussion which will hone your ability to present and justify your arguments. Oxford is a fitting place to explore humanity’s greatest questions, following in the footsteps of some of history’s greatest minds. Have the chance to wander though Christ Church Meadow and read poetry under the Bridge of Sighs, soaking in the atmosphere of the world’s most literary city.
