Application to the Erasmus Program

Activities are coordinated by the higher education institution the applicant attends. Students may take part in the learning mobility activity under the joint agreements of their universities.
Conditions for participating in the program are as follows. The student must

be currently attending a university

have completed the first year (two semesters) of the university education

have not previously benefited from the program

have passed the language proficiency exam

have a GPA above a certain level

Since a large number of students apply, the following criteria might provide an advantage in student selection.

A GPA of 2.7/4 or higher

Good language skills. TOEFL / IELTS is accepted as English language score.

– TOEFL (IBT): 80; TOEFL (PBT): 550
– IELTS: 6.0+

The application is made through the Coordinator of the universities.

Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Macedonia.

Conditions for application the Erasmus internship program:

Student’s grade point average (GPA) and language proficiency score are the main criteria to be considered in the internship program application

Grade point average (GPA)

  • – 2.20/4 and above for undergraduate students
  • – at least 2.50/4 or higher for master’s and Ph.D. students.

Language proficiency (either of the below)

  • – B1 from the foreign language test conducted by the student’s university
  • – TOEFL: 57-86
  • – IELTS: 4.0-4.5.0

It is the applicant student’s responsibility to carry out all the correspondence with the institution or the company to intern for; and many students find the process difficult. In order to overcome these difficulties, the applicant could

start the process as early as possible;
ask for detailed information from the Erasmus office at his/her university;
get into contact with the students who previously participated the program in order to benefit from their experiences;
follow the online internship finding platforms.

It might also be useful to follow the following steps to determine a suitable institution/company:

Determining one’s area of ​​specialization
Identifying the host country
Identifying potential institutions for internship in that country

– Internships can be done at any public or private organization/company, or at institutes, research centres, foundations or non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Preparing a professional CV and a Letter of Intent

– Submitting them to multiple institutions deemed appropriate
