Before entering medical school, aspiring doctors typically complete a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent pre-medical education. Language school is where students undertake a comprehensive program that combines academic coursework with clinical training. The curriculum typically covers fundamental medical sciences, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and more. Students also receive training in clinical skills, patient care, and medical ethics. Medicine school programs generally span four to six years, depending on the country and program structure.

After completing medical school, aspiring physicians usually need to pass licensing examinations to practice medicine legally. These exams assess the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide safe and effective patient care. Examples include the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) in the United States and the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) in the United Kingdom.

Following  and obtaining a medical license, physicians typically undertake residency training in their chosen specialty. Residency programs provide practical, hands-on experience in a clinical setting under the supervision of experienced physicians. Residencies can last from three to seven years, depending on the specialty. During this time, residents refine their medical skills, gain practical knowledge, and prepare for specialization.

At Time Academy, completing a residency, some physicians choose to pursue further specialization through fellowship programs. Fellowships offer additional training in a subspecialty area, such as cardiology, neurology, or oncology, to develop expertise in a specific field of medicine. Fellowship programs can last from one to three years, depending on the specialty.
